Saw on tf1 a couple of days ago that grues are on their way north, filmed in the Land.
This evening a large flock has just passed overhead heading NE towards Bergerac, first so far.
We will probably miss a lot as off on our once a year visit to Blighty.

Yes spring is coming. The man from the commune was removing the snow poles from the side of the road last Friday! A sure sign of spring at the doorstep.

I saw 2 swallows two days ago, the first I've seen here. They're a week later than the first ones I saw last year.
After some beautifully warm sunny days, it's turned much cooler and it's cold in the wind unless you're moving about.

Similar to Papi, swallows are back here preparing their nests. Possibly been here for nearly a fortnight. Also heard a nightingale and a cuckoo.

The dawn chorus is bliss, and everything (that should be) is bursting into bloom.

Nature, the one thing we can pretty much rely on to always deliver and never disappoint!

Around here and back in the Lot every thing, daffs, fruit blossom, irises, roses etc are about two weeks early.
Our daffs are almost over and the roses which were cut back hard beginning of March are starting to come into bloom.
Black starts nests are egged up same with blackbirds.
