 Post subject: Gas bottles??
PostPosted: Mon Jan 24, 2011 1:42 pm
I have 2 x 6 kg "Le Cube" gas bottles from Butagaz.

Does anyone know whether these are refillable in the UK or compatible with any UK gas supplier's bottles?
Does any UK gas supplier have "cube" bottles?

Thanks,

D.

No the the gas suppliers in the UK will not touch them

Not to the best of my knowledge, which is a bit out of date, and also I doubt if the connections would be the same

Thanks,

D.

At one time I was "well in" with a LPG supplier, near Plymouth, who told me that just about every month he was asked to fill up a French bottle, by French fishermen who had landed fish at the fish market in Plymouth, and he could not by law and also the connections were different

EDIT :: Have a look at these links

I have also read that the BP "clip on" will not work with the French bottles, but a French "clip on" will work with BP bottles, but you would need to check this out yourself

Also for those with LPG powered cars, its worth remembering that the UK does not have the same connection for LPG cars as the French do

Although our VW camper doesn't run on lpg, we have it for the cooker and hw heater, adaptors are readily availiable. It like a lot of things the French like to be different.
