Hi
Just been watching the news on France 2 from the relative safety of flooded Essex and it looks like the last few days have been pretty rough across the centre of France.

What has the weather been like in the southern Morvan? Has the storm caused wide areas without elecricity?

I see from tonight's weather forecast that the next few days have snow falling in Bourgogne, has there been more than usual this year? I assume the same travel chaos we had last week in UK due to snow is not a major issue in those parts of France that get some snow every year.

Paul

Hi Paul,

We live in the Morvan, very close to Brassy. This winter has certainly been colder than usual and we've had snow more often, though certainly not as severe as Feb. 2007! There's been lots of rain, with streams/rivers bursting their banks but nothing desperate. Local lakes and ponds have remained almost permanently frozen over. Yesterday the storms/winds struck here and we have been without electricity all day. Power resumed around 8.30p.m. I know that Lormes and Epiry were also without electricity but am not aware of the present situation. Right now it's cold and wet. Hope this helps.

Sue.
