If you had say 24/48/72 hours to do something... what would you do or visit?

Since I live in the country, I'd probably head for the city!! Beaches? Do you go away on vacations or is living here your vacation? I guess a lot of you go back to England...Since I am not English..I don't think of that as an option...Where would you go? What would you most like to see? dream on...Obreynne

Visit either Milano or Firenze, in that 72 hours sit on as many bar terrasses as possible and drink real coffee , visit old architecture. Nightclubs, most important. Have to stay in smart hotel.

Not exactly what I had in mind.

Snorkeling on coral - I would go to Redang, off the coast of Malaysia, for the pristine reefs.

Drive the Amalfi coast ,preferably in a Maserati,with either Franco Nero or Johhny Depp as my co-driver

Swimming in clear warm sea - Turkey, the SW coast would do it for me.

Cappadocia or backwoods in India for me.

To have a wander around the fields with a springer spaniel at my heel, and a shotgun in my arms, it would not matter whether I had any luck, but just to see the wild life about, mind you a brace of tasty pheasants, a couple of plump pigeons, or a nice fluffy bunny would be nice for the pot, would make my day

The wording in my post was quite accurate. WE don't go away much, but I'd like to go to the Lauterbrunnen Valley and surroundings. I don't think y wife would be going, as she hates heights, and I think a trip on a cablecar would be the end of her. So, I have to wangle a trip on my own........somehow........

Me too. It's my favourite place in the world. I never cease to be amazed by the variety of scenery and the fact that, even though it's not that far from the coast, you can find places where you can walk all day without seeing another soul. If they could just transfer the cooking of Burgundy down there it wouldn't be possible to better it.........

Anywhere in the hills or mountains, we love the aubrac and its only an hour and a half away.

If I did not go snokeling on coral, I would go exploring the Vallee Verte in Haute Savoie - and in two months or less I will be doing just that.

Hurray - and I might join you on your jollies for a few days. Thelma and Louise style!
