Hi Ive recently joined this forum (which appears to be more appropriate for what I am looking for)

I am looking for info/advice on becoming a host for Woofers and Workaways for when I set up my Small Holding in France early next year.

My intention is to be fully organic on the Small Holding which lends its self to the ethos of Woofing and giving Woofers an opportunity to have experience of an organic setup. I've been on another forum looking for advice Re. this and was directed to this forum and advised to contact Hardworkinghippy (however being a new member to this forum it looks like I am unable to contact Hardworkinghippy directly)
If Hardworkinghippy reads this would you contact me please! or if anyone else has experience of Woofers please get in touch.

I've recently received a message on the other forum Re the legality of Woofing in France ! can anyone shed any light on this ?

Many thanks.
Col

Maybe try and contact her via the blog?

Hi Col and welcome to the forum !

You could try her on Facebook if you are a member : https://www.facebook.com/La-Ferme-de-Sourrou-La-Permaculture-en-pratique-307178979613835/
HWH's permaculture farm is La Ferme de Sourrou - you might find another way of contacting her if FB doesn't work.

Thanks very much for the welcome to the forum !

I will try and contact HWH and others to get their opinions, i've been on another forum looking for advice on this matter and have been told it would be illegal for me to have Woofers/Workaways volunteering with me, and even if I have family and friends helping me out would be viewed as using Black labour !

can anyone throw any light on this for me please.

Cheers
Col

Hi Col - I've removed you from Newly Registered so you could try contacting her by PM. She's a busy person and doesn't look in here every day !

Regarding volunteer help - it's always viewed by those around as working on the black. The French cannot conceive of anyone working for nothing !

I'm not sure whether you could do this, but it may be possible for you to create an association, which has various legal requirements, but is relatively uncomplicated. You must not make a profit and it should allow you to have "bénévoles" (volunteers). Your Woofers could pay their 5 euros to belong to your association and they could volunteer to do whatever you have in mind without any problem.

However - best check with HWH - and Mad87 is a whizz on French law :)
