We have had what we originally thought was to be a diagnostic expert come and inspect our floating safety cover on the pool. He not only checked the coverb ut wanted to know the ins and outs of a ducks bum!

What the constructiion was along with what kind of liner. the water sanitation, how the javel and sulphuric acid are stored, oh yes, and the cover. It took him about 1 1/2 hours. A really nice bloke and very helpfull and friendly and he told us that all is well with everything apart from that we didn't have a lable saying that all is well.

He told me that I could print of the said lable and then everything is compliant!

So, today I had a look at 'The Local' and the article about the 'new' swimming pools in Paris

https://www.thelocal.fr/20170717/paris- ... a-villette

I wonder if that place would pass ANY health checks? It made me wonder why we had just shelled out 150€ for our inspection?

Why did you? Swimming pools are not part of the obligatory legal diagnostics package, see
https://www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/N20591
https://www.notaires.fr/fr/les-diagnostics-techniques-immobiliers
Some agents con folk into having one done!
A good agent will organise a pool specialist to assess a pool if a buyer so desires, but it's at the buyer's cost, as a building survey would be.
A buyer or his Notaire might reasonably ask for proof that the security provison is to normes, (purchase receipt or the AFNOR stamp on the cover/alarm/fence)

Tut tut no pool alarms that I could see and I hope the fences comply after all that much algae can wrap itself around small children and it's that green they won't all be seen. Risk assessment?

Some people we worked for had paid a franchisee of Everblue to report on the pool before they bought the property. I think they paid 150-200 euros.
It was winter. The pump had been removed and stored in the garage. The pool was covered and he just lifted a corner and peered in. He saw clear water, lots of it, and none leaking out anywhere so he pronounced it OK. The safety cover was also given the thumbs up as the vendors had a receipt and he could see the label on the cover. If he'd tried to work it he'd have quickly seen the mechanism was u/s but he didn't.
Easy money if you cover your report with caveats!

Our report was a request from our buyer as the notaire had told him that he could, if he wished, accept it without the instalation being inspected, BUT if he did and there was an accident he would be liable to the fine of 45000€ etc, but that also he could back out there and then if he didn't like it. The buyer almost jumped out of his chair in his hurry to say no way, he wanted the house and we were told, by the notaire, that we would have to get the installation inspected. So we did.

The notaire had the conformation certificate, so that was not a problem. It was just the instalation, we thought? But we got the full works including that we couldn't do what I've been doing for years. Storing the chlor and sulhpuric acid in the same place. They can sit beside each other when they are being used by our auto dosing chlor/PH system, but not in the sealed 25kg bidons I get them in? :-\ :-\

Technically they need to be sat in bounded containers. Bidon inside dustbin.
