We have a lovely Albizzia in the garden, but apart from some little tiny buds, there are no leaves yet. We saw it last summer before we bought the house, and it was wonderful. This winter wasn't cold and it's on the south side of the house.

Am I being impatient ? It doesn't look as if it's dying - I've tested a couple of twigs and they're definitely green. I'd be very sorry to lose it as it's so pretty in the summer.

Be patient! Albizzia are one of the last to leaf up. Almost like they're protecting themselves from late frosts.

+1 to what Bayleaf said. They've only just burst bud here in Montpellier.

(Mind you, with the horrible weather we've been having, I'm not surprised ...)

The leaves started to appear about 10 days ago, so earlier than last year. It was definitely colder last spring so presumably the reason for the delay. We also gave it a much needed trim last winter which seems to have agreed with it. The flowers won't appear fo quite a while ...
