Crystal therapy, detox, aromatherapy, Pro-Calcium Plus, astrology, psychic powers, essential oils (and I'm not talking about Castrol 20-50) all get the boot here:

Pffff..Couldn't stand to listen to more than the intro, but I've got more faith in the rebouteurs here in France than in any American, living or dead :ymbringiton:

Oh I did, Pip...10 seconds is my limit for American accents ;) :D Has anyone on here had recourse to a rebouteur? Anyone who practises their 'gift' and leaves the donation optional has got to be genuine, in my book.
Whereas the medecins traitants seem to be deeply in the pockets of the pharmaceutical Cos.

Anyone who starts off by making a complete mistake is difficult to take seriously. There never have been any maps with the words "Here be dragons" on them.

Yes but it is a globe not a map and is in Latin as you say and even in Latin, it is the only example of anything resembling the phrase "here be dragons".

The clip starts off saying that old maps often contained phrases like "here be dragons".

He is clearly incorrect and that, for me, detracts from the veracity of anything else he might say. It is not my idea of "critical thinking" even if I accept his metaphor.

As an ex cartographer, I reject the statement that cartographers gave fancy labels to things they did not understand. There are innumerable examples of labels such as "unknown territory" or "terra incognita". On the contrary, cartographers only reported what they could verify and measure and if they did not know, they said so.

Whatever the rest of his message was, it was lost on me.
