The National Library of Ireland has spent the last 3 years digitising its collection of parish registers which are due to come on line on 8 July.

On that date, over 390,000 digital images of the microfilm reels on which the parish registers are recorded will be available for search - without charge. This is a huge bonus for anyone researching their Irish ancestors as the resource concerns records from 1740s-1880s, 1,091 parishes throughout Ireland, and consists primarily of baptismal and marriage records.

Cant wait! (although I'll probably be in the queue with 200 million Americans....)
